Let’s get you playing.
Creeks is a vocal harmony instrument for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 12 or later. Logic Pro is the currently tested DAW. Windows, Intel Macs, and Pro Tools/AAX are not supported in this release.
In Logic Pro
- Install Creeks, then reopen Logic Pro.
- Create a software instrument track. In its instrument slot, choose AU MIDI-controlled Effects → Holo Tree Studios → Creeks.
- Set the plugin’s Side Chain to your microphone input, or to the vocal track or bus you want to process.
- Select the instrument track so it receives your keyboard’s MIDI notes. Start with the Natural preset and LIVE mode.
- Sing while holding a chord. HARMONY blends your original voice and processed layers. Advanced exposes the separate DRY, TUNED, TONIC and CHOIR levels.
Make it yours
Natural, Creeks, Robot, Choir and Ghost are five starting sounds. Presets preserve input calibration, output gain and timing mode. VOICES sets a limit from one to eight; if you hold more notes than the limit, the lowest notes take priority. HARMONY at its midpoint preserves the preset’s original layer balance. Advanced reveals the detailed controls. Output starts at 0 dB.
Keep your signal clean
Set microphone gain so your loudest phrases do not clip at the interface. Start with your listening level low. INPUT CLIP indicates a problem before Creeks; OUTPUT CLIP means the plugin output needs reducing. Avoid routing the processed output back into its own microphone source.
Latency and performance
HUMAN adds approximately 40 ms in LIVE and 80 ms in STUDIO at 48 kHz. The plugin shows its current reported processing latency; your interface and DAW buffer add further delay. Start with LIVE for playing. Change modes between phrases. If your Mac struggles with a larger chord, increase the DAW buffer size. Other DAW MIDI/side-chain workflows need verification before you buy.
